Registration Is Just the Beginning
Many people finish signing up on the Binance Official Website and feel overwhelmed by all the features on screen. Creating an account is only step one - what you do next matters a great deal. We recommend installing the Binance Official App alongside the web version. iPhone users can refer to the iOS Installation Guide. Here is everything you should do after registration, in order of priority.
Step 1: Enable Two-Factor Authentication Immediately
Why This Comes First
Right after registration, your account is at its most vulnerable - protected by nothing more than a single password. Two-factor authentication (2FA) acts as a second lock on your account: even if your password is compromised, no one can get in without the verification code.
How to Set Up Google Authenticator
Open the Binance app or website, go to "Security Settings," find "Google Authenticator," and enable it. Scan the QR code with the Google Authenticator app to complete the binding.
The most critical step: During setup, the system will give you a recovery key. Write it down on paper and store it safely. If you lose your phone, this key is the only way to recover your authenticator.
Bind Both Email and Phone
If you registered with email, add your phone number in Security Settings. If you registered with a phone number, add an email. This gives your account triple protection.
Step 2: Set Up an Anti-Phishing Code
An anti-phishing code is a text string you define. Every official Binance email will include this text. If an email claims to be from Binance but does not contain your code, it is a phishing attempt. Set it in the Binance Security Settings.
Step 3: Complete KYC Identity Verification
KYC is a prerequisite for using the full feature set - no P2P trading, no large withdrawals, and limited promotions without it. Upload your ID document (passport recommended for fastest approval) and complete facial recognition. Usually takes under five minutes with a passport.
Step 4: Get Familiar with the Interface
The Binance app bottom navigation includes Home, Markets, Trade, Earn, and Wallet. The app offers Lite and Pro modes - beginners should start with Lite.
Step 5: Learn the Basics
Familiarize yourself with major coins: BTC (Bitcoin, largest by market cap), ETH (Ethereum, smart contracts), and stablecoins like USDT. Start with spot trading - futures carry extreme risk and should only be attempted after thorough understanding.
Step 6: Make Your First Deposit
Use P2P to buy USDT. Pick a seller with a strong reputation and high completion rate. Start with a small amount (50 to 100 USD) to learn the process before increasing.
Step 7: Make Your First Trade
Select a pair like BTC/USDT, use a Market order to buy a small amount of BTC. Market orders execute at the current price immediately - the simplest option.

Of course. Explore the platform and learn at your own pace. Deposit when ready.
