How to Navigate the Binance App Interface

What You See When You First Open Binance

After downloading the Binance Official App, many newcomers feel overwhelmed by the wall of numbers and charts. The good news is that once you understand the five main tabs in the bottom navigation bar, everything falls into place. You can also visit the Binance Official Website to explore the layout on a larger screen, or check the iOS Installation Guide to make sure you have the genuine app installed. Let's walk through each section one by one.

The Five Tabs in the Bottom Navigation Bar

The Binance app has five icons along the bottom: Home, Markets, Trade, Futures, and Wallet. Each one leads to a core feature area, and together they cover virtually everything you'll need for day-to-day use.

Home — Your Information Hub

Home is the default screen when you open the app. At the top you'll find a search bar for looking up any coin. Below that is a row of shortcut buttons for common actions like Deposit, P2P Buy, and Convert. Further down you'll see trending coins with their price changes, along with announcements and promotions from Binance.

As a beginner, pay the most attention to the shortcut buttons at the top. If you want to buy crypto, tap "P2P Buy" to purchase USDT with your local currency. If you already have USDT and want to swap it for another coin, "Convert" is the easiest route.

Markets — Real-Time Prices at a Glance

Tap the second icon to open the Markets page. Here you'll find real-time prices, 24-hour price changes, and trading volumes for every listed coin. You can filter by category — Favorites, Popular, New Listings, Top Gainers, and more.

A handy tip for beginners: add the coins you care about to your Favorites list. Just tap the star icon next to any coin, and it will appear under the Favorites tab so you don't have to scroll through everything later.

Trade — The Heart of Buying and Selling

The Trade page is the most complex but also the most important. The current trading pair (e.g., BTC/USDT) is shown at the top — tap it to switch pairs. In the middle is the candlestick chart, and below that is the order entry area.

Beginners don't need to understand candlestick charts right away. Focus on the Buy and Sell buttons at the bottom. Select "Market" order type, enter the amount you want to spend, and tap Buy. Once you're more experienced, you can explore "Limit" orders and other advanced options.

If the Trade page feels too cluttered, try using the Convert feature on the Binance Official Website instead — it's much simpler and more intuitive.

Lite Mode vs. Pro Mode

The Binance app offers two interface modes. Lite mode is a streamlined version designed for crypto newcomers — it strips away advanced features and keeps only the basics, giving you a much cleaner look. Pro mode is the full-featured version with everything unlocked.

To switch: tap your profile icon in the top-left corner of the Home screen, then find the "Binance Lite" toggle in Settings. Beginners should start with Lite mode to learn the ropes, then switch to Pro mode once they feel confident.

Understanding the Wallet Page

Tap the last icon in the navigation bar to open the Wallet page. This is your asset overview. At the top you'll see your total estimated balance (which you can toggle between BTC and fiat currency values). Below that, assets are organized by account type:

  • Spot Account: Where coins you've bought through trading are held
  • Funding Account: Where USDT purchased via P2P arrives first
  • Futures Account: Where margin for futures trading is stored
  • Earn Account: Where assets in Binance Earn products are kept

One important thing beginners should know: USDT bought through P2P goes to your Funding Account. If you want to use it for spot trading, you need to transfer it to your Spot Account first. Just tap the "Transfer" button on the Wallet page — it's free and instant.

Profile and Security Settings

Tap the profile icon in the top-left corner of the Home screen to access your personal center. Here you'll find several important options:

  • Identity Verification: Complete KYC to unlock full platform features
  • Security Settings: Enable Google Authenticator and phone verification for two-factor authentication
  • Preferences: Switch languages and customize the interface

Security settings are critical. Right after registration, head here to enable every available verification method. Using the Binance Official App makes this process straightforward.

Making the Most of the Search Function

The search bar at the top of the app doesn't just find coins — it can also locate features. Type "Earn" to jump straight to Earn products, or type "Security" to quickly find your security settings. Whenever you can't find a feature, try searching first.

FAQ

The Binance app is showing everything in a different language. How do I change it?

Tap the profile icon in the top-left corner, go to Settings, find the Language option, and select your preferred language. If you're having trouble, refer to the language settings section in the iOS Installation Guide.

Why are the numbers on my screen showing as ***?

That's Binance's privacy feature. Tap the eye icon next to your balance to toggle between showing and hiding your amounts.

What do the green and red colors mean on the Markets page?

In Binance's default settings, green means the price is up and red means it's down. If you prefer the reverse color scheme, you can swap the colors in Settings.

Why do some features not respond when I tap them?

Certain features require identity verification to use. If you haven't completed KYC yet, some trading and withdrawal functions will be restricted.

Can I hide the promotional banners on the Home screen?

There's currently no way to completely disable promotions on the Home screen, but switching to Lite mode will give you a much cleaner interface.

Security Reminder

When using the Binance app, keep these points in mind: First, only download the app from official sources — never tap suspicious links. Second, enable two-factor authentication (2FA), especially Google Authenticator. Third, avoid making trades on public Wi-Fi networks. Fourth, regularly check your login history and change your password immediately if you spot anything unusual. Protecting your account is the very first step in your investment journey.
