Where Exactly Is My Money?
When you first start using Binance, you might run into a confusing situation: you know you bought some crypto, but a certain page shows a zero balance. That's because Binance has multiple sub-accounts, and your funds may be spread across different ones. Today we'll clear up exactly how to view your assets on the Binance Official App. If you haven't signed up yet, head to the Binance Official Website to create an account. iPhone users should check the iOS Installation Guide to download the official app.
The Wallet Overview Page
Open the Binance app and tap the "Wallet" icon at the bottom right to reach the asset overview page. At the very top, you'll see your "Estimated Total Balance" — the combined value of everything across all your Binance accounts.
You can switch the display currency by tapping the currency symbol next to the amount. Toggle between BTC, USDT, and various fiat currencies. For example, selecting USD shows your total in US dollars for a quick sense of your portfolio size.
If you don't want others to see your balance, tap the eye icon next to the amount. All numbers will be replaced with asterisks. Tap again to reveal them.
Understanding Each Sub-Account
Below your total balance, you'll see several sub-accounts, each with its own balance. This is the core of how Binance organizes assets — once you understand these, you'll never wonder "where did my money go" again.
Funding Account
USDT or other coins purchased through P2P first arrive in the Funding Account. Think of it as an "entry buffer" — incoming funds land here temporarily. If you want to use them for spot trading, you'll need to transfer them to the Spot Account first.
Spot Account
This is the most commonly used account. Coins bought or sold on the trading page, as well as coins obtained through Convert, are stored here. Tap "Spot Account" to see every coin you hold along with its quantity, average cost, and current market value.
A useful feature: tap the sort button in the top right to arrange holdings by value from highest to lowest, making it easy to find your main positions. You can also check "Hide Small Balances" to filter out coins with negligible value.
Futures Account
If you've done any futures trading, your margin and P&L are tracked here. Beginners who haven't activated futures will see a zero balance — nothing to worry about.
Earn Account
Assets in Binance Earn products appear here, including flexible savings, fixed deposits, and DeFi staking positions. Even though these assets aren't in your Spot Account, they still belong to you and are included in your total balance estimate.
Viewing Details for a Specific Coin
On the Spot Account page, tap any coin to open its detail view. Here you can see:
- Available Balance: The amount you can immediately trade or withdraw
- Frozen Balance: Amounts locked in open orders that haven't been filled yet
- Total Balance: Available + Frozen
For example, if you have 100 USDT and placed a limit buy order using 30 USDT, your available balance shows 70 and frozen shows 30. Cancel the order and those 30 USDT return to your available balance.
Checking Your Profit and Loss
Many people want to know whether they're up or down overall. Viewing P&L analysis on the Binance Official Website is often easier than on the app.
Method 1: PnL Analysis Page
In the app, go to the Wallet page and look for an "Analytics" or "PnL" section (the exact location may vary by version). This page shows your total investment, current value, and return rate.
Method 2: Trade History
Navigate to Orders > Spot Orders > Order History to see every completed trade, including fill prices, quantities, and fees. Compare your buy price with the current price to calculate profit or loss on specific coins.
Method 3: Transaction History
Find the "Bills" or "Transaction History" section on the Wallet page. This shows every movement of funds — deposits, withdrawals, trades, fees, Earn rewards, and more. It's the most detailed financial record available, perfect for reconciliation.
Transferring Funds Between Accounts
On the Binance Official App Wallet page, tap the "Transfer" button, select the source and destination accounts, enter the amount, and confirm. Internal transfers are always free and instant.
Common transfer scenarios:
- After buying via P2P: Funding Account to Spot Account
- Getting into futures: Spot Account to Futures Account
- Starting to earn: Spot Account to Earn Account
Viewing Your Asset History
On the Wallet overview page, some app versions display an asset trend chart showing how your total portfolio value has changed over time. You can select 7-day, 30-day, or longer timeframes to see whether your assets are growing or shrinking.
If the chart isn't visible in the app, log in to the web version where the analytics features are typically more comprehensive.
FAQ
Why does my total balance keep changing?
This is perfectly normal. The prices of the cryptocurrencies you hold fluctuate in real time, so your estimated balance moves with them. Even if you haven't made any trades, the displayed value will go up and down.
I made a deposit but nothing shows up in my wallet. What should I do?
First, verify that you sent the deposit to the correct address and network. Blockchain transfers require confirmation time — Bitcoin can take 10–60 minutes, while Ethereum usually takes a few minutes. Check your deposit status under "Deposit History."
How do I withdraw money from Binance?
Transfer all your assets to the Funding Account, then sell your USDT for fiat through P2P — the buyer will send money to your bank account or payment app. To send crypto to another platform, use the "Withdraw" function.
My balance shows 0 but I definitely bought crypto. What's going on?
Most likely you're looking at the wrong account type. Check your Funding Account, Spot Account, and Earn Account — your coins are probably in one of them. Also, if you placed a limit order that hasn't filled yet, your funds are still in USDT form under the frozen balance.
Can I export my trade history?
Yes. On the web version, the Orders page has an export function that lets you download your trade records as a CSV file. This is very useful for tax reporting or personal financial tracking.
Security Reminder
Keep these safety practices in mind when viewing your assets: First, don't display your account balance in public — it can attract unwanted attention. Second, regularly review your transaction and login history; if you spot any activity that isn't yours, freeze the account immediately and contact support. Third, don't screenshot and share your portfolio on social media — it makes you a target for scammers. Fourth, enable the app's privacy mode so your balance is automatically hidden when you switch apps.
