How Often Should You Change Your Binance Password?

· About 4 min read · CoinPath Editorial Team

Finding the Right Frequency

Generally, change your Binance password every 3-6 months. With a strong password and 2FA enabled, every 6 months is fine. If you frequently use public Wi-Fi or a data breach occurs on another platform, shorten to 1-3 months. Register on the Binance Official Website or use the Binance Official App. Apple users see the iOS Installation Guide.

When to Change Immediately

If you reused your Binance password on a breached platform (credential stuffing risk). If you logged in on a public computer or Wi-Fi. If you receive an unusual login alert. If you shared your password or stored it insecurely.

Creating a Strong Password

At least 12 characters (16+ preferred). Mix upper/lowercase, numbers, special characters. No personal info (birthday, phone, name). Not used on any other website. Consider using a password manager like 1Password, Bitwarden, or KeePass.

How to Change It

Web: Profile > Security Settings > Password > Change. App: Profile > Security Settings > Change Password. Note: withdrawals are disabled for 24 hours after a password change as a security measure.

Password Management Tips

Do not save passwords in browser autofill - use a dedicated password manager instead. Use a unique password for every platform. Back up your password manager master password in a secure physical location.

Beyond Passwords

Also enable Google Authenticator, set up an anti-phishing code, turn on login notifications, and configure withdrawal address whitelists. These measures together form a complete security defense.
